Statua Molinello

Museo Palazzo Corboli in Asciano organises an evocative re-enactment of ancient Etruscan ceremonies at the Tumulo del Molinello.

On Saturday, 20th September 2025, Museo di Palazzo Corboli in Asciano will take part in the Giornata degli Etruschi (Day of the Etruscans) with a special event: a historical re-enactment of an Etruscan funerary rite at the atmospheric site of the Tumulo del Molinello.

Museo di Palazzo Corboli di Asciano joins the The Etruscans 85–25 project, promoted by Regione Toscana together with Fondazione Musei Senesi and Associazione Musei Archeologici della Toscana, celebrating forty years since the major 1985 events dedicated to Etruscan civilization.
For the occasion, a special event will be held in Asciano on Saturday, 20th September 2025, combining history, historical re-enactment, and cultural outreach: a live reconstruction of an ancient Etruscan funerary ritual.

The re-enactment will take place in the unique setting of the Tumulo del Molinello, a major archaeological site preserving valuable traces of Etruscan presence in the Crete Senesi area. Here, in an immersive and evocative atmosphere, the public will witness a simulation of an ancient funerary ritual, learning how the Etruscans marked the passage from life to death and their connection with the afterlife.
